Free Freelance Budget & Income Tracker Template

Track your income, expenses, taxes, and profit — all in one place. No spreadsheet skills required.

Most freelancers track income in their head and expenses in a pile of receipts. That works — until tax season hits or a slow month exposes a cash flow problem. These three templates give you a simple system: know what's coming in, know what's going out, and never be surprised by a tax bill again.

No. All downloads are completely free with no email required. Click the download button and the file saves directly to your device.
What's the difference between the free templates and SoloStack membership?
The free templates are a sample of what's inside. SoloStack members get 50+ done-for-you templates across invoices, proposals, contracts, SOPs, budgets, and social calendars — plus a new themed pack every month. Members also get formatted, ready-to-use versions (not just plain text).
How do I track taxes as a freelancer?
Set aside 25–30% of every payment you receive into a separate savings account and treat it as off-limits until tax time. Pay quarterly estimated taxes to the IRS — due dates are April 15, June 16, September 15, and January 15. The expense categories template above includes a full deduction checklist to help you lower your taxable income.
